Facts about donkeys

Donkeys have been used as working animals for 5000 years. They are also domesticated* member of the horse family.

A male donkey is called a Jack, a female donkey is called a Jenny.
 Young donkey= Foal, just like the young horses/baby horse.
When a donkey and a horse mate the foal will be a mule. Juancito.jpg You can see that the neck on the mule is from the horse, and the fur isn't so thick like a horse, but the mule has got the long ears, mane and the muzzle* from the donkey.

*Muzzle is what the horses mouth is called.
*Domesticated is when it's one of the tamed species..
